Welcome to Lily & Sparrow!
Hi sweet friend! Iām Sarah: a multi-passionate ADHD wife and mom who loves collecting hobbies and creative projects.
When Iām not wrangling my āferal fairiesā (aka my amazing daughters) or trying to make family life as magical as possible, I can be found writing, checking out way more books at the library than I can reasonably read, or going on long walks with the occasional Pilates workout thrown in.
Although my current job title is āstay-at-home-momā, I am also the founder of Heaven Held, a digital magazine on Substack designed to help moms feel HELD: Heard, Equipped, Loved, and Discipled. Iām constantly working on side projects, including childrenās books, personal essays, podcasts, and long-form YouTube videos.
In everything I do, Iām passionate about bringing glory to God and encouraging women to build a life of faith and intentionality on and offline.
Why Lily & Sparrow?
Lily & Sparrow is a cozy space for personal essays and podcast episodes that explore the intersection of faith, motherhood, culture, and what it looks like to trust Godās provision through it all.
This publication was inspired by pivotal New Testament verses in which Jesus says, āConsider the lilies of the field, how they grow without laboring or spinning, yet even Solomon in all his splendor was not arrayed like one of theseā (Matthew 6:28-29). And āif sparrows are sold two for a penny, yet not one falls to the ground apart from the Father, how much more does He care for youā (Matthew 10:29-31)?
My hope is that this space gently reminds you to look up and rest in Godās care in this distracted, digital world. Donāt just stop to smell the roses, sweet friend; consider the lilies and the sparrows as well.
